94 Jaguar XJ6 and XJ-S Scheduled Maintenance

Download this page if you are going to service your 1994 XJ6 or 1994 XJ-S.

We have developed these maintenance procedures to comply with the factory recommended maintenance (nothing has been omitted in order to maintain your factory warranty) and we have added a few additional operations that came out as technical bulletins or that our experience has shown were needed to properly care for the cars that live in our climate (North Carolina). The work has been scheduled to be performed in the most efficient and logical sequence for us and part numbers, quantities and torques have been included to assure consistency. Check your vehicle's manual to be sure that these data apply to your vehicle.

If you cannot print these to your satisfaction or just want a nice laser printed set, a full set of 7.5k, 15k, 30k, 60k, or 10k, 30k, 60k, covering all the Jaguar models at this web site and printed on 110lb smooth white card can be purchased for $20. Call our Parts Manager Robert at (919) 596 4250 or fax him at (919) 596 4780. or e-mail at FCECLtd@aol.com

This conversion chart enables us to identify the source of events that show up on an oscilloscope. Here's how it works (look at the top row): If a spike or pattern repeats every 200mSecs in any engine idling at approximately 800 rpm, then we look for a cause associated with just one cylinder (the same one). If that engine is a 6 cylinder and the interval is 33 mSecs at approximately 800 rpm, then we look for a cause that is associated with all cylinders like coil firings. (the coil fires 6 times as often as plug wire 1 fires) That is pretty obvious but a quick check of the time between events can help to pick between an ignition amplifier fault and a 'missing' spark plug.
