Typical NCMGCC Tech Session

Well, this was supposed to be a report on the fascinating content of our latest club tech session but, as usual, I was too busy doing other things to see what was going on and write about it. One of the interesting distractions was an introduction to Ron Wharton's new digital camera and after the session was over I discovered that he and Simon had copied today's pictures onto Simon's computer. "Aha," I thought as I perused the pictures. "I'll do a picture scrapbook of the people at the session". So here they are:

Now this is the kind of picture you would expect to see after a tech session, right? People being vaguely interested in why things work the way they do.
....a subject that has fascinated David Jones for years. He is brilliant at figuring out mechanical stuff and making it work again. A kind of modern day McGyver....

Then there are other types that you just know don't have any tools any more. Ben Brown is a good example. Just why is he so upbeat these days?

No Don Annas is not really as he serious as he appears here. He knows that when the MG club guys quit talking and go home he can go down to his workshop and get on with his XKE restoration

Konrad Schoen - our new president who may actually have an MG if he were to put all his bits together

Rob Orander - who has more MGs and MG stuff than anyone except the Heritage Trust and is always willing to share his time and his talents.

Simon Briggs - well what can you say about a Triumph owner?

Ted Allman who drove to the tech session on a wing and a prayer because he preferred to run out of petrol than have to drain it out when he changed the fuel level sender!

Go figure.

Not a very surprising picture at first glance: two club members lying on the floor, one helping the other to change the fuel sender. but wait, they are 8 feet from 2 vehicle lifts. Were we too busy to notice and put their car on one of them? Oops.

Konrad had more little bits that he had taken to pieces to see how they work than anyone but when he dropped that tiny screw everyone moved in to help. L to R: Konrad, C.J. Karcanes, Brad Mackey, Ben Brown, Simon Briggs, Clyde Hollar

Meanwhile in the Courthouse Green Room:

"I know that we've done a lot of research about England Pat but I think I would rather go to Cancun"

All in all I think everyone had a good time. I know we did. So thanks to everyone who came and thank you Ron Wharton for taking these pictures of the people of our club.
